Pinned. Did. Done.

It's another edition of what I've been doing lately!
  Exciting stuff, as you'll see.
I've been feeling very unproductive lately concerning...well, everything.
So plowing on through a to-do list always makes me feel better about myself.

I am so fancy.
Scott loves spaghetti squash.  The texture weirds me out, but I make it for him because he likes any filling food that doesn't contain carbs (there aren't a whole lot out there it seems).
This was good, he said. Too much cheese, he said. Not possible, I replied.

Using our monogram, I did a version of this pin about a year and a half ago.

Our monogram:

I tried these bars and they were okay.  I've been seeing versions of the "Congo Bar" all over the place. I was curious. I think all Congo Bars may be created equal (the recipes are all pretty much identical) so it had nothing to do with this person's recipe.
(I just want to emphasize that. No hate coming from me :).
I dislike scooping out cookie dough and washing cookie sheets, so bar-form seems ideal.  However, I think I'll try it again with my own recipe.  There's a reason why I like my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe.  I shall never be unfaithful to it again.

Green tea with lime?  I was intrigued.  I always keep lime on hand (and quite a few have gone moldy this way) for margaritas and/or these Thai Noodles.

This was really good.  I drank it hot (duh, it's Alaska) and prefer the lime to lemon.

Have you made anything good lately from Pinterest?

Oh, and in true Sunday fashion (it's a dilemma as old as time for me), I've got TWO shows to watch tonight.  Downton Abbey and The Walking Dead.
Oh, and Scott likes this show that comes on A&E about tuna fishing *eye roll*.
We can't watch Wicked Tuna tonight.  DVR will only record 2 shows at once.
Problems, problems...

  2. I just use my regular chocolate chip cookie recipe for congo bars, and I think they turn out pretty well. And TOO MUCH CHEESE?!?! Scott, what are you thinking? Definitely not a thing.

  4. There's never too much cheese. Ever!

I normally make 2-3 things from Pinterest pins every week. Most stuff has turned out very good.

  5. But cheese IS lower carb, lol. I wish it was also low fat (well that tasted good!) b/c I love cheese. I have been wanting to try spaghetti squash, but am lazy lol.

  6. I am so excited about Walking Dead tonight! I can not wait!!

My mom and grandmother have made Congo Squares for as long as I can remember! It's more of a blondie brownie mixed with a cookie! If you would like I could give you the recipe!

I'm thankful to have 2 DVRs for the problem you just described.

  10. Are congo bars basically chocolate chip cookies in...a flat sheet? I clicked on the pin, and that's all I got out of it. Regardless, they look yummy. Hey, who doesn't love chocolate!?
I like tea in general..but I'd never thought of adding lime. I hate spaghetti squash. It's weird and I just don't like it.
I'm recording Downton Abbey tonight too! But I'm only on Episode 2 of season 3. I was SO happy when Matthew and Mary got married. But then again, everyone saw that coming from miles away! I still love Maggie Smith's merciless humor. She's just so blatantly rude; it's amazing! I pretty much love everything about the show..except Edith's crush is a little bit weird.
Have you had a chance to check out that movie yet?

  11. I love the button monogram! And man, I'm craving chocolate chip cookies bad. Just plain ones, not weird. Which is kind of weird...
