It's okay to admit that I can't do it all.

As I type..I'm trying to do the dishes, make a shopping list, read blogs, eat breakfast, and put away laundry.  All while scouring a particular food blog for a chicken recipe I KNOW that I've made before and I want to make again tonight but the chicken is still frozen and I can't marinate it so...Oh, and it's 7:30am.

It's okay to admit that I can't do it all.
I need to admit that I can't do it all.

I mean, I want to blog all every day (this includes write posts, read blogs, and respond to comments...while aimlessly trolling Pinterest).  I want to spend all day with my husband (though this isn't an option as he works too).  I want to work out everyday.  I want cook, bake, and keep the house looking good everyday.  I have apples sitting in the crisper that I want to bake with!

What must I do everyday?  Go to work.

So.  If I am not commenting on your blogs as I usually do, pleasepleaseplease do not take it personally.
It's not you.  It's me.  Promise.

I will be posting regularly (this is like my crack, people), but I might not have time to read.  Usually (for the last year), my blog-reading time has corresponded directly with my couch-sitting time.  Now, I'd prefer to spend my couch-sitting, t.v.-watching time with my husband and not my iPad.

(How do you people with spouses in your home every night keep up with it?!  Tell me your secrets.)

AND it's okay I'm looking for guest bloggers for the month of December.

If you're interested (and I know you are), I'd love to have you.  I'm looking for something holiday-ish.
A great holiday-inspired outfit, recipe, or craft.  I would say 8 or 10 guest bloggers total but, since I'm really bad at math, I haven't gotten that far yet.

Shoot me an email if you're interested (k.e.twigg@gmail.com) and we'll talk.
I need the post by November 30th, so I can schedule them.

(In case you're wondering, when it comes to mandating due dates, I'm really good at it.  And when I say November 30th, I don't mean December 8th.  Silly children.)

Linking up to It's OK Thursday.  Because everything's always all okay and stuff, right?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
OH!  Tomorrow, The Great Pumpkin Swappers unite.
Or link up.  Or whatever.  Something like that!
Stop back to share your goodies with me or Allie (She was the one who had it together enough to send y'all that reminder email earlier this week?  Yep, her.)

ALSO (oh, there's more), my giveaway is still happening til Monday!  At which time I will brave the Rafflecopter site again and choose a winner.  Don't miss out on some cute goodies and free Starbucks!

  1. I think most people understand it's more important for you to spend times with hubs now that he's home than do blog things every single day. I'm sure you'll find the right balance of it all soon.

  2. Shit. I can't do it all either. I feel ya on that.

And thaw the chicken in some warm water :) that'll speed the process!

I would guest post for you but I don't know what to say!

  4. Totally ok to admit you can't do it all! It's good to remind ourselves and others of that every once in a while.

  5. We can't do it all! And I read blogs during naptime, which doesn't help you much and kev has to work at night often so thats when I make my posts. Some days I respond to emails, some day I go through my reader and some day I do neither. People understand! I would be happy to guest post for you though.

  6. Emailing you!!
And man, I have no idea how toe ven help you. I have the same issue.
I just wanna blog all day but then my house gets messy, dishes pile over and start to smell, we all start wearing dirty clothes and living on snacks from the cabinet. Not cool, totally not cool. The part about living on snacks and dishes actually did happen my last winter in Alaska when I was like 205870239476029458 months pregnant but it only lasted like 3 days and the dishes really weren't that nasty.
But yea, prioritizing time is SO not an easy thing to do. I usually do my most blog stuff while David's at work and the kids are at school but that's also when I attempt to get caught up on housey stuff too. we live a hard life, man. a hard life.

  7. I just ignore the children. It works out pretty well for all of us. ;)

I have a couple of "Christmas Only" treats I make, I'd be happy to post about. I'm going to be away for part of December too - so we'll have to work around the dates. Email me?

  8. No one can do it all and that's ok! :) I usually will set up my postings after Kyle goes to bed. :) That way I'm not taking time away from him in the evenings. You rock for doing everything that you do.

  9. I don't have a husband at home and I still can't do it all and still can't read all the blogs I'd like to

  10. It's tough as hell to keep on top of all this blogging business, run a household, and work full time. I'm actually going through this too. Just yesterday I something I never thought I'd do, I reset my reader. Looking at that high three digit number was driving me bonkers so I'm starting over with a clean slate & hoping I can at least stay on top things over the weekend.

  11. Aloha! I found you through your comment to MegO and had to stop by and say HI as a past soccer player. And look at this...you are in about the same predicament as me....trying to do it all knowing I can't. I would love to say I could guest post a holiday craft but ummm.....I am afraid to commit to any deadlines just yet.

Have a great day and enjoy the hubs!

  12. I guess I'm lucky that my job is often slow enough that I can eek out blog posts during the day...I *rarely* blog, or even read blogs, in the evenings. I respond to comments, but that's about it, and it's easy to do from my phone.

  13. Hahaha that's why my I only blog like once a week! I always try to blog everyday but stuff always comes up (I work from home and have a baby), and once my husband comes home I like to hang out with him. So totally understandable!! Enjoy your time with your hubby :) Maybe try blogging when he's watching a show you don't like? My husband literally only watches sports (which I hate, lol), so when he watches sports I can blog or read blogs!

  14. I don't know how people do it. My husband isn't even home yet and I still feel super behind. I can barely keep up with replying to comments and I don't even have a full-time job like you.
I feel bad because I think about all the blog friends I interact with, and think about them, and then just wish I had their #'s so I could text them to see what's up, you know? Which is why I tend to interact more on IG and Twitter b/c it's quick and simple and to the point.
Let me know if you hear any great tips with this matter.
    Happy Thursday friend!

  15. You have far better excuses for not blogging than I do!!

That is why I am looking forward to moving because I am not working so I should have plenty of time to blog right?! We will see...

  16. That's pretty much howi spend my life! I'm one of those people who love to be busy! So life is a little crazy around here sometimes!

I'm lucky (I'm some ways), my husband works away a bit, so I try to do all my blogging, and blog reading while he's out. I also don't work consistently, so I can get stuff done during the day.

  17. all definitely okay!! I think Chris gets annoyed sometimes because I'm often on my computer when we watch tv. and I can't do that and follow when we watch 24. I need to do a better job at putting it away!! I'll do a guest post for you!!!

  18. Well my "job" is the baby, so I blog and read blogs while she naps. Though I've been getting up early these days to get some work in before she wakes up. I'm a morning person!

  19. I know what you mean about blogging/ looking at blogs while on the couch - that's about the only time I do it. Luckily my boyfriend is very handy, so I have a bunch of time when he is fixing something/working on a car/doing work around the house. I also have 3 other roommates, so I'm not the center of his attention sometimes, and I don't mind that. I know there are a lot of comments here, but I would love to share some family holiday recipes if you are still looking for guest bloggers!

  21. Sigh. Can't do it all. Like, that needs to be my motto. {It's not. YET.} I read blogs for an hour or so between dinner and Jordan's bedtime. What I get through, I do. What I don't...well, that's why I'm late on reading a lot. And I'd love to guest post if you still need...

  22. Nobody can do it all...even if it appears that way. I had to really force myself not to pick up my iPad in my exhaustion from this week. We were required to work an extra 7.5 hours over two nights to have Monday off....so I worked 6 days in a 5 day week. I am T. I. R. E. D.

As for having a husband who is home (while its not always nightly because of his schedule), you get used to him being around so you both do your own things in the same room. :)
