It's OK 9/13 and Thankful Thursday

Its Ok Thursdays

It's okay that when my students thought "a lot" should be one word ("alot"), I showed them The Alot from Hyperbole and a Half.

For real.  Brought it up on the projector and read it to them.  I scrolled past the beer can part quickly.  I think only the kid in the first row noticed it.

They LOVED it.  I'm going to print that picture and we're going to color "alots" to remind us that they don't exist.  (Their idea, not mine.)

It's okay that I will wear this coat every day until November.

...probably with a scarf.
It's relatively okay, and kind of amusing frankly, that Levi Johnston's kid was born at the hospital half a mile from my house yesterday.

And that is my claim to fame.

It's okay that I won a giveaway for only the second time ever last week!

Allie from A Day in A Joyful Life sent me this fun package of her favorite things.  Thanks Allie!

It's okay that this is the perfect time to mention I will be co-hosting The Great Pumpkin Swap with Allie in October.  Who wants to sign up for a swap of fall favorites?  Hats, candy, candles, decor.  I'm excited and a bit nervous to organize a swap!  You guys have to help me by participating.  No one likes to be the new kid on the block.

Thank goodness Allie is talented enough to create a button/image.  As I am not.

It's okay that when I was 20 years old, I thought Taylor Swift was a genius.  While I think she's probably a decent person, I just cannot get behind her music anymore.

Loved and Lovely

I'm thankful for my husband.  I enjoy the way he emphasizes the "seriously".
If that's not reassuring, I don't know what is.

  1. Man, kids do so well with visuals. We read "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" this week and we're making visuals for the Great Awakening today. My kids are 16. Also, Pumpkin Swap? Heck yes!

  2. Pumpkin swap = fo sho. Sounds so fun!

(And don't hate me that I still love her. I know that makes me a teenager, but I can't help myself. Although I have to admit... she can be VERY annoying. :))

  3. I feel the same way about Taylor Swift! I just can't get behind her music anymore either. She just annoys me!

  4. I LOVE Hyperbole and a Half! What happened to her, anyway????

  5. yeah for winning a giveaway! love that note from Scott! :)

  6. Ahh I used to love Hyperbole and a Half! That's such a cute teaching idea! And congrats on winning a giveaway, looks like you got some great stuff!

  7. I considered to a blog swap the other day. Then I decided I was too lazy, but because I really do want to do one, and you're co-hosting it, I'll definitely sign up. :)

  8. Hahaha! The Alot. That made my day. :)

  9. Whenever I read your posts, I know we could be friends!

I am guilty of alot and blame laziness and lack of retenion from grade school. I wish my teachers had emphasized it like you. Alot and I are no longer speaking.

I can't wait for the swamp as I love all things pumpkin. Recipe soon?

After reading that message from your hubs, you two are a perfect match!

  10. Is it ok that I'm reading a Thursday post on Saturday...technically Sunday?! I'm so glad you liked the little box of goodies and I cannot wait for the pumpkin swap!

  11. You're co-hosting a swap? I'm in! Granted, I just swore off of them for the next month but whatevs. Can't wait to hear more about it.

Comments make my day!
