Thankful Thursday 3/29

Lately, I've been thinking about how I need to start being more thankful.  Well, not being more thankful, but expressing that thankfulness.  Luckily, there's a link-up out there for such thoughts!

I'm thankful for...

(1)  Thoughtful students

A girl brought this back for me from her spring break trip to NYC.  Sometimes I'm amazed by how much I must mean to these kiddos.  I'm so thankful for them even if my frustration sometimes says otherwise.
(2)  Having so much more than I deserve
Last week I went to Wal-Mart and spent a lot of money on various things:  supplies to make Easter treats for the children, a birthday gift, a new baby gift, some grocery odds and ends, some supplies for a blog swap...
And I could do that without really thinking about it too much.  I try not to spend more than necessary (I don't want to call myself cheap, but it is what it is..)  The fact that I can go out and spend money on candy melts and Easter treat bags without worrying about how I'm going to pay my electric bill makes me realize how blessed I am.   Which is probably why I was spending the money on treats I could use to bless others.
Thank you, husband!  Thank you for working so hard to support us.  You have no idea how much I appreciate the security you've given us.
P.S.  I work hard too.  But a teacher's salary wouldn't get me far in the great state of Alaska.

(3) My iPad
Did you know it makes an excellent radio?  I carry it from room to room with me.

(4)  Blogging
Sometimes, when I do talk to IRL (in real life) people who aren't my co-workers, I forget that not everyone blogs.  I started talking about cakeballs/cake pops recently and I had to stop and explain what they were because the person had no idea.  Usually, when that topic is brought up, the IRL person references the ones in the Starbucks bakery case.  You know, the overpriced ($2!!) dried-up ball of crumbs that you can purchase with your latte??  I, then, almost don't have the heart to say that I usually have a tray of them in my freezer.  They're so easy to make, after all...
I'm glad to have a community of friends online.  Reading your blogs inspires me in so many ways!

(5) R.I.P.P.E.D.
If you don't know about this workout, look to see if you can find it in your area.  Holy cow, is it awesome!

Anything you're thankful for???
I'm linking up with Ryan @The Ramblings of Mrs. Hargrave.

  3. All of the above and more! Great post. I had a "lightbulb" moment years ago when a (high school) student brought be a mug from the Utah Olympics. Either I meant a lot to him or his mom was someone I should have been friends with. :)

  4. Teacher's may not make as much as they deserve to I'm sure it's the little things like that mug that make it worth while.

I'm the same way when it comes to shopping, I'm not cheap but I do like to save a buck whenever I can. And, talking to IRL people who don't blog...it's like they're from another world haha.
