July Book. (singular)

Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez 4 stars

I'm not the type to snatch up the must-read summer rom-coms. This book was good though! Suspend your disbelief a bit for sure, but I really enjoyed it.

I admit that I read Part of Your World, liked it, didn't read Yours Truly, and then got Just for the Summer from the library on Kindle. I started Yours Truly *after* Just for the Summer and it wasn't as interesting to me. I quit about halfway through. I also started The Friend Zone but gave up around 10%. I have to be in a very particular place for rom-com to work. I need mystery, murder, and mayhem in my reading.

Well. I wish I had more to share for July! I'm reading two books right now and I had a smattering of unfinished books in the last two months. I also canceled my Audible subscription because my attention span is not there.

Never Split the Difference wasn't as good as I wanted it to be. Husbands and Lovers wasn't something that pulled me in, even 3 hours into the book. Such a disappointment. I also did NOT like the narrator's voice. So, that's on me, but maybe try a print copy?
I like E.D. Hirsch Jr. but Why Knowledge Matters is something I need to read not in the summer. The Stranger in Her House started out really good but then it got kind of predictable and then just kind of drug on so I didn't finish it. Wild Things was good enough but self-help is annoying sometimes so I stopped.
