loving: It's August which means summer is almost over and I could not be more thrilled.
starting: Routines. Just routines. I have some very loose #hashtaggoals this month and they include and depend on getting up before my children. That didn't happen yesterday or today but I'm hopeful, you know?
Anyway, the big things are:
1. Get up before children (namely the little one).
2. 10-15 minutes of yoga (I feel better as a human being after I do a quick Sarah Beth Yoga flow. It's been this way since I was first pregnant back in 2017.)
3. 10-15 minutes of The Bible Recap (I have gone back to TBR just because I need daily accountability and using my phone works better than sitting down with my actual Bible at 5:30am. I've tried every method imaginable.)
4. Drink one protein shake a day, probably for breakfast (I am not a breakfast eater) and make sure I'm putting collagen in my coffee again.
These things need to get done so I can get ready and be out the door with a 5 year old and a 1 year old by 7am.
Pray for me.
However, I anticipated all of this and my move to go back to work was strategic in many ways: we have a 7 minute commute and no daycare drop-off or stops. Two years ago, I had a 45 minute commute with the morning traffic plus a preschool stop right in the middle of all said traffic.
Still. Pray for me.
thinking: I have been trying to write a day-in-the-life post for literally years now, when it comes to being a SAHM. I've never been able to do it without giving up, crying, or hating everything. Being a SAHM is absolutely exhausting and the hardest job I've ever had.
However, I was finally able to get a day down on paper for you all to read because I did it in a self-deprecating way. Sometimes it's just better to be honest!
wearing: I went shopping in Kansas City over the weekend and got a few interesting-to-me pieces. Generally, I buy athleisure or I buy dresses. I'm trying to branch out a bit if I'm going to be getting dressed every day again.
Now I'm looking for a skirt or two and maybe some pants? I have black skinny pants and black wide-leg pants. I don't have any skirts, I don't think. I may have only had two or three before Wells was born (as part of my teaching wardrobe) and I got rid of those long ago.
I was thinking this:
