Unpopular Opinions IV

This is going to be short and sweet but very important. All of these are issues I face daily. D-a-i-l-y. I can't get away from them.

+Rom-com books are a lot of work for me. I see your reviews. I want to join in. Sometimes I enjoy them while I'm reading, but it's always a lot of work to convince myself to get started and push through many of them. Just reading synopses exhausts me, tbh. Like, you generally know the ending already.

+I like my scrambled eggs to be a bit burnt/brown/crispy. I hate soft, fluffy eggs. Like, can barely choke them down.

+When I am struggling to sleep deeply, nothing bothers me more than birds starting to chirp in the morning. Sometimes I have those nights where I never really fall into a deep sleep. << I'd rather be wide awake with true insomnia than deal with that. But when daylight starts to creep in and birds start chirping (especially if the windows are open), I become increasingly frustrated because I know it's only a matter of nanoseconds before Wells is awake. This is why I sleep with a very loud fan on during the summer months.

+I can drink 2-3 cups of coffee and take a nap an hour later. It's a gift. Coffee does not work. On the subject of coffee, decaf is not coffee. Stop. It's like second-hand embarrassment for me when you talk about how much you love/need coffee and it turns out your drink decaf.

+Lastly, speaking of books I didn't like, I just ordered this from BOTM:

I'm also going to toss my referral link in here..if you were thinking of trying Book of the Month, go here!

I did not like Daisy Jones but this one is closer to my age-range/generation, so I'm hopeful.
I also grabbed it today because I'm starting a no-spend challenge for August and tomorrow is...checks calendar..August. Aside from diapers, wipes, and a baby gift I need to grab from Target this weekend, it's no-random-spending for the next 31 days.

(Do you think it's safer to go to Target and get out of the house or do you think it's safer to order online, when it comes to frivolous spending opportunities? I would kind of like to have the baby gift on hand tomorrow...)

  1. Wait - I'm new to BOTM - you can go in & order some other books? I'll have to check this out.

I'm better at shopping for showers online - where I can use a registry & just click what they want. if I'm in store - I'm more apt to just pick up more things cause its CUTE

  3. I'm with you on scrambled eggs, no runny eggs - gross. I am also doing a no-spend August so I went ahead and ordered all my cleaning stuff from Target today (along with some frivolous earring shopping at Kendra Scott - whoops).

  5. I like to read RomCom books in between heavier stuff or thrillers just to break things up. Omg, I HATE birds chirping in the morning! I think I yelled, 'shut up!' to some this summer like they could hear me and would listen! LOL! I picked that same book this month! I thought Daisy Jones was fine, but I don't understand why everyone loved it so much.

  6. Decaf isn't coffee and I don't know why anyone would waste money on it! The birds- I had a dove that sat outside my bedroom window and would start around 4AM in the spring. Luckily it has moved on. I haven't been inside a store besides the grocery store since March. I'm also doing a no-spend month. Time to reign it in!
