1. I got my Alaska license plates in the mail. For the last 11 months, we've been registering every vehicle and every trailer with the state of Alaska. I feel like I've brought this up before?
The point is that, after almost a year of filling out paperwork, and mailing giant envelopes to Anchorage at $7 a piece and keeping tracking # receipts just in case, we're done. My car was the last one because it was the last one that needed updated registration (we got it in March) and the reason why we didn't wait any longer was because it would've needed to be inspected in Pennsylvania by the end of this month. Whew! Sorry, PA. No tax money for you! That feels good.
2. This is kind of random, but important: I thought our vacuum cleaner was broken. We've had 4 vacuums in 10 years and all have been used to death, mostly because Scott ends up using them to suck up drywall dust or something. It was making a funny sound and not working well last week. I had almost resigned myself to just asking Santa for a a new one, and then I took it apart the other day to see what was wrong. There was a baby toothbrush stuck inside.
Wells does like to pull the vacuum apart and put all the pieces together. It provides him endless amusement. I'm assuming he stuck it up the tube and when I turned it on, it got sucked up and stuck.
But the favorite is that I can maybe squeeze another year out of this vacuum.
3. I read a great book this week! The first couple of chapters were slow but I really enjoyed the story. It's a mystery-thriller that's not gory with no long-lasting PTSD that will keep you up at night (#Verity).
4. Christmas is next week. I cannot tell you how excited I am....to get Wells some new toys. I am bored with his toys and don't blame him for not playing with them. He's only gotten a handful of things since his birthday in July. If Christmas was more than a few days away, I'd be at Target buying something for him to play with.
I packed up a bunch of his current toys and stuffed them in the closet and will pull them out at a later date. He needs fresh amusement. It's so hard to keep him occupied these days.
Little Baby Bum occupies him a bit, but it's definitely not infallible.
*I opened them and Scout ate the wrapping paper.
Have fun christmas celebrations!
