This post was inspired by Rachel, because I do like seeing the inner-workings of how people think.
The biggest unpopular opinion I've had lately is probably that I really don't like Halloween. I find dressing up to be exhausting, mentally.
Here's more:
I don't like baseball.
Watching movies is one of my least preferred activities. I even thought about ways I could change this, but haven't figured it out yet. I think the last movie I watched all the way through was back in March. Sometimes Scott will say Let's go to the movies and I really have to psych myself up for it.
Tacos are just okay.
I think I was more impressed with Alaska being "Alaska" and Missouri being "Missouri" than I am with Colorado living up to the hype. I won't say I wanted to live in either place forever (because I didn't) but they were what I expected.
Chocolate is okay. Vanilla or caramel are better flavors.
Chai tea is gross. So are PSLs.
I don't vote. I used to, but I don't anymore. I can't vote in Colorado because I'm not a resident even though the issues here affect me more than the issues in Alaska do. I could send in absentee ballots but I don't know anything about local politics in Alaska now. Voting uninformed isn't ideal.
Spirit week/spirit days are my nightmare.
I cannot stand 80s music.
I don't buy magazines. I think they're a huge waste of money.
I don't like To Kill a Mockingbird. I understand why it's an important part of history because of how it was written but I don't like it as literature. I didn't love it in 11th grade and I don't care for it now.
I like turning back the clocks in the fall. As I told someone yesterday, all those years (you know, all four of them) in Alaska did something me. I find the dusk comforting.
What are your unpopular opinions?
OMG PSLs are disgusting. I remember when they first came out years ago, everyone was going nuts over them so when i bought it (paid SIX DOLLARS for it), I fully expected for the heavens to part as flavour explosions went off in my mouth but it tasted like someone shat in my coffee. i was SO MAD but drank it anyway BECAUSE $6. never again.
ReplyDeleteI love these posts. I don't like any type of work drink - not coffee, not tea. Nada. I don't like baseball either. I'm not a big sports person. And I loved most of the books I had to read for school, but yeah, To Kill a Mockingbird is not a favorite of mine.

I don’t like Halloween - I don’t like carving pumpkins, I don’t like decorating for Halloween, I do like candy and candy corn(obviously), I like kids in costumes, but the idea of someday having to dress a kid up and walk a cold neighborhood, not really.
ReplyDeleteI hate PSLs and basketball. I really really hate basketball!
I like movies, because I like being able to watch a complete story in a couple hours - with tv series sometimes the story takes all season and I’m not always that patient.
So I like this time of daylight saving because the sun is up earlier again. BUT last night I was cleaning up the kitchen and it was dark outside and I was like, gosh I can’t believe it’s already like 9pm.
It was 6:30. I think the sun is setting here at about 5 right now? Throws me off haha!
I did this yesterday as you know.
ReplyDeleteI don't like pumpkin spice lattes either.
I have to say, I'm a little shocked at the 80's music one. My 80's childhood self is screaming inside.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the PSL though... or baseball.
PSLs are disgusting! I'm not a fan of most things pumpkin but that one is just bleh.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love caramel and what's better, Angel can't stand it, so any caramel desserts/caramel candies are something I'll never have to share.
ReplyDeletetotally agree about vanilla and caramel being better than chocolate. i mean, i'm a fatty and will eat anything, but given the choice, those two over chocolate every day. i feel the same about magazines, but i had to go through a ridiculous obsession/addiction for a few years and then look back at all the money i wasted in order to get to that spot. it's a good spot and i am never leaving. i haven't bought a magazine in like 10 years.
ReplyDeleteI also don’t like baseball, and I like turning the clocks back, too! It’s forward that I hate. Who. WANTS to LOSE an hour of sleep?! I was worried this year because I thought Ryder would be up at 4:30 AM, but I put him to bed late so he wasn’t.
ReplyDeleteI actually do like spirit days because it takes the guesswork out of what to wear to work. I almost always have something to fit the theme!
