Stuff and Things 2/2

Stuff, Things, etc.

+I never wear my glasses. Like, ever. But I had an annoying contact irritation of some sort yesterday so I took them out and put these on as soon as I got home. I also thought Hey, blog material. Let me write a blurb about this super fun fact. So anyway. Glasses.
I felt like I was in a fog as I attempted to cook dinner.

+I had to blow out the exposure on these pictures in order to make the lace stripes visible on that sweater. Also, I do own shoes other than these brown boots...I really, really do. But effort is hard.

+It's Groundhog Day.

+I made this swordfish over the weekend. I recommend the recipe if you have (literally) no idea what you're doing. Scott came home with a bunch of seafood. I was sick on this particular day and drugged up on Mucinex. He's all Why don't you make this? and he had somewhere to be, so it gave me like 30 minutes to get it from frozen to ready-to-eat. It turned out really well. I googled "swordfish recipes" and it was one of the first links.
There's no science to my methods.
Also, I hadn't cooked anything all week, so I felt I owed him at least this. (If I'd messed it up though, it would not have been my fault.)

+I  made this salsa honey verde chicken in the crockpot too. It wasn't life-changing but it smelled amazing and tasted good. There's a lot of chicken/salsa recipes out there. They're all tasty.

+I want to make some lo mein and this looks like what I'll be trying soon.

+Last night, I made General Tso's chicken with a seasoning mix. So it's not all Pinterest and roses.

  1. I saved those salsa verde honey lime tacos. I like to try a twist on regular tacos.
I like you in your glasses.

  3. Those glasses look great on you. I never wear mine because I hate them; they look bent in and too big for my small face. I need new ones. And I never make fish because I don't know what I'm doing, but this one looks fairly easy. Definitely going to try it- thanks!

  4. LOL @ it's not all pinterest and roses. Indeed. Sometimes it's frozen pizza or bread and butter at my house.

  5. I agree, the effort is hard to get dressed in the morning. If i don't lay stuff out the night before, its just not happening that fast in the AM. I don't know why, my body is more tired nowadays.

Our life isn't all pinterest and roses either. Sometimes we have the same thing a few days in a row. But its food!

  8. You look cute in glasses! You should wear them more often just for fun. I, on the other hand, wish I could swap mine out occasionally for contacts...

The swordfish looks delicious, though I have not once seen swordfish in Alaska. Bet I could sub with halibut or something though...

  10. I tend to fall over my own feet when I'm wearing my glasses so I don't wear them out and about much. People are often surprised when I get them out in meetings. I'm just quite used to the world being a bit fuzzy!

I'm all about the easy recipes at the moment. I have zero pinterest inclination right now.

  11. Are we pinterest friends (I don't think so since I rarely pin) but I JUST made that lo mein on Tuesday! It's okay. I didn't get fancier soy sauce like she recommended and I used carrots, bell pepper, and mushrooms. It needed a deeper flavor and more texture. Next time I would probably add some chili sauce to the soy sauce and add peanuts for crunch, but it wasn't bad!

  12. I always hated wearing my glasses, mostly because they gave me headaches after a while.

  14. Aw, love your outfit! I think your glasses look good. Mine are super old. I don't mind them, but I should probably try and find something that suits me a bit better now that I'm in my late 20's. haha

  16. I love your outfit posts! I'm in my glasses for right now because I ran out of contacts and life was too busy apparently for me to remember to order new ones. Now I'm just being lazy about it. I live in the boot/legging/dress combo these days, too.
