The Worst Books of 2015

Yesterday was the best books. Today is the the worst. Because I like looking at non-recommendations as much as I enjoy good recommendations. Fact: Sometimes I'll scroll through Goodreads reviews just looking for the 1-star ones.  They're always the most interesting.

My most-disliked books of 2015....

This screenshot from Audible has several books I dislike in it. Can't believe these are the "most wished for".

(Since I'm not going to rewrite reviews, I just took a screenshot of what I've already written.)

All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr.

Yes, Please by Amy Poehler.

Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee.

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer.

There were a few others I didn't finish, but these are the ones I was either: 1. Really looking forward to and they disappointed me or 2. Came highly recommended and disappointed me.

What was the worst book you struggled through this year?

  1. I've heard a couple of people recommend the Tina Fey book- What did you think about it? Is it worth the read?

  2. Oh gosh - I LOVED Amy Poehler's book so much... I think I just like her in general so even if she wrote a pile of poop, I'd still laugh.

  3. I loved Guernsey and thought Amy's book was just okay.

NO desire to read All the Light.

  4. I can totally agree with some of these books - the worse books are easier to pick out than the best, haha! Not a fan of fault in our stars, in fact started it, hated it and watched the movie and wasn't impressed by the movie either. Which is why I didn't read/watch that paper towns either.

I did like the Grey books because there is a storyline behind it. Granted you had to get through some stuff first but there is.

  5. I am so conflicted about all the light we cannot see. it's been on my list for ages, but i'm never in the mood to start it. i could take or leave Amy's book, it was okay, but I wasn't a hardcore fan of hers. Guernsey is one of my faves of all time though haha. I have never listened to it though, I'm not sure it would be a good audiobook. Sometimes I like audiobooks that I wouldn't have liked if I'd read them, and vice versa. I didn't read go set a watchman, not interested.

  6. I completely agree with you about Go Set a Watchman. Seriously disappointing. Yes, Please was ok. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it. I did like All The Light We Can Not See. I liked the characters and I liked the story. I didn't want it to end. I also liked the Guernsey Literary Society, but it's been a few years since I read it. I also read all of these though. I know there are some that I can listen to that I can't read and vice versa.

  7. I wanted so desperately to love The Goldfinch and I did until about half way through the book when the whole feel of it took a huge drastic shift. I felt a little cheated and ended up not finishing it so turned off I was by the whole thing.
Didn't even give Go Set a Watchman the time of day.
