Style Challenge #1

Wear a dress.

I'm all about challenges these days.

A challenge is what I need to get any sort of motivation to do anything.  In fact, I do this weird thing where I'm running late for work every morning, because I challenge myself to make sure the house is all cleaned up before I go.

Audrey at Putting Me Together is *challenging* us all to put some more thought into style.  I desperately need this.  I'm aware that outfit photos have all but disappeared from the blog.  Truthfully that's because I come home from school and within 27 seconds I look like this:

I'm too…something…(trying to avoid the word lazy) to take a picture.  And the weather is generally pretty yucky this time of year.  Yesterday, we lucked out with some sun for the first time in a week.

Dress: Express // Leggings: Lauren Conrad // Boots: old // Scarf: Target (via Michael in a swap!)

I've had this dress for over a year and I can't decide how I feel about it.  It's not particularly flattering and the sleeves are kind of bothersome.  But it's easy.  Leggings, dress, boots…it doesn't get any easier.

Wear a dress:  Challenge complete.
Next week is Wear a bright color and the week after is Copy an outfit you pinned.
Link ups are on Thursdays, so you should join in!

  1. I really like the dress. I also don't feel that straight up and down shirtdresses like this are the most flattering of cuts--I like something that goes in at the waist and has a flared skirt, but they're also a part of my wardrobe. They're great for layering with leggings and with polka dots like that one, they're not boring!

  2. I don't have any shirt dresses but I think that one's really cute. I love to layer dresses in the winter and that one is perfect. Looks great on you. Also - on the whole getting comfy thing as soon as you walk in the door... totally there with you. Except my hair is usually up too!

  3. I change out of my school clothes as soon as I walk in the door too. And most of my school outfits these days require very little effort.

Easy dresses, leggings, and boots are the best for winter!

  5. I've fallen into such an embarrassing slump with my clothes that I don't even want to talk about it. Maybe I need to take this challenge (I hear laughing in my head....haha). You look seriously cute in that dress though, so it was definitely a win for you!

  6. Love this, you look great! I so need to up my game on fashion, I've been wearing a lot of the same outfits week to week and I'm getting bored of it myself!

  7. I love love love that dress on you! Tunic-style dresses are my favorite, and the only kind I really wear/feel like they flatter my body shape. And you can't go wrong with black and polka dots, and the sleeves don't look weird at all! A+ on the contrasting colored scarf, too. You're cute.

I really like that dress and outfit in general.

  9. That dress looks great on you!

I'm the same way after I get home. I'm usually coming home after a work out, and I've been showering at the gym lately. So I come in the door and change into my pajamas. I mean, it's dark out by then, so why not? Other times, I'm already wearing leggings so....can't get too much more comfortable than that! :)
