New rule

Remember when I started posting outfits?  I had put a lot of thought into the idea of, Must get dressed each day. Must not wear turtlenecks. Must look put together.  That's why I started posting outfits.

Look at that green grass!

However, while that worked fabulously for the school year, leaving Alaska and, consequently, leaving the job that forced me to get dressed each day, changed my routine.  On most days, I usually just go to the gym in the morning and run errands in the afternoon.  I could easily come home from the gym at 10am, shower, and put on...more gym clothes.

I cheated and brightened this picture up a bit.
But if I was really into photoshopping my pictures, I'd figure out a way to give myself a tan.
Everything's Old Navy.

Getting dressed gives me a purpose.  Therefore, I must put on real clothes to run errands.  Now, if I'm washing the car or cutting the grass as the day's project, gym shorts it is.  If I go out to interact with others, real clothes are necessary.

Especially if it's sunny outside.  Sunday, when it was 62* and cloudy (you know, like Alaska's July), it was perfectly acceptable to go to Lowe's with messy hair and dirt streaks on my legs.  No one even noticed.  Except for the fact that I was, like, the only one with shorts on.

62* is pants weather here.

  2. 62* is typical early summer weather here. And you can see shorts AND pants, but that's because us PNWers (probably like you Alaskans) take advantage when the weather is sunny. In high school I wore flip flops almost all year round. Even in the 30* winter weather.

  4. If I were just going to the gym, running errands, picking up the house, cooking, etc I would soooooooooooooooo only wear yoga pants and tanks! ;-) So GO YOU for putting effort into your outfits. Super cute!

  5. I have to make myself put on real clothes every day. In fact, I'm wearing sweats right now. But I feel so much better when I'm wearing real clothes!

  6. I get into the gym clothes habit during the summer. We'll see how I do this year.

  7. I love your bright purple and green!! But in 62 degrees I'd probably still be wearing a light jacket. My body has never adjusted off of tropical weather. Proof I was made to live near the equator, I'd say.
