Things I don't understand

1.  Retweeting your horoscope on Twitter.  Who do these people think their audience is?

2.  My electric stove.   2 1/2 years of cooking on gas spoiled me.

That's what happens when oatmeal boils over...because there's no such thing as temperature control on an electric stove.  That ain't ever coming off.

3.  Why I'm so tired.  I want to sleep in everyday until at least 9.  But when classes at the gym start at 9, at least it kicks me out of bed.  My theory is that this is the first week since April 19th that we've been settled and haven't been going non-stop.  It all caught up to me.

4.  The mover who wrapped each of my shoes individually.  That's 30 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

5.  Why Scott insists on going fishing everyday.  This is what I need to start saying:

6.  Why I insist on making so much work for myself.

6.  Why I can't stop eating stupid rice krispy treats.  It's becoming a problem.

7.  How Dexter could ever end well.  I mean, it's about a serial killer.  Looks like dark times are coming in June.  Thanks Lin for posting this trailer for season 8.

(I promise I'm not really sobbing uncontrollably over my consumption of rice krispy treats.)

  1. I HATE my electric stove, but I've gotten much better at cooking on it-- it does get better! I can't eat rice Krispy treats because if I do I never stop, and sobbing in the shower in cutoff jeans would probably be the next logical step.

  2. Oh man, I would hate cooking on an electric stove. I've never regularly cooked on anything but gas. Even when I lived with my grandparents and I occasionally made futile attempts to get them to try Malaysian food...they had a gas stove.
And I love rice krispies treats. I don't think I've had them since our last road trip, though.

  3. Cooking on an electric stove is such a pain to get used to. We had one at Bragg and I wanted to throw myself out of the window on a daily basis haha.

  4. I actually hate my gas stove. I'm afraid of gas leaks. All of your Arrested Development stuff makes me happy! Only a few days til season 4.

  5. Thank you for being someone who agrees with the retweeting of a horoscope. I don't get it either, maybe because they feel accomplished when they see that they tweeted. Who knows!

  6. I hate when people retweet that shit. So annoying. As for Dexter, I can't even talk about it. I don't want the series to end. I feel like it just started.

  7. I don't believe in horoscopes anyway, but Tweeting them is just stupid. Nobody cares!

I've never had the luxury of cooking on a gas stove...I'd kill for one. Or at least an electric one that looks like a gas one...Every time I watch a cooking show I drool.

I think you should take a week and sleep in until 9am every single day, and THEN get back into gym life. You need to catch up!!

    And...wrapping shoes individually?? WTF?

  9. I would say that all of the craziness over the last few weeks is reason enough to be exhausted. Get caught up on that rest! :)

  10. They make a cleaner for those stoves, and a special sponge too. I hated the baked on stuff when we had a flat top!

Too many rice krispie treats is a lifestyle, not a problem. ;)

  11. If you tell any of the ladies I work with that you are tired, they will immediately ask if you are pregnant. I am sorry that I thought that when I read #3

Were your shoes wrapped in bubble wrap?

  12. Rice krispie treats were invented at Iowa State University, so ... you're welcome!! Seriously though, I wonder what that first batch was like...

  13. We switched from electric to gas, and it's honestly made cooking SO much easier. Especially for someone who sucks at cooking, like me.
Get the sleep while you can! On average, I sleep 7-8 hours a night, which is pretty average, but on Tuesday I finished everything really early, so I went to bed at 7.
    I swear I'm 80 inside.

  14. I tried to post a comment from my phone yesterday but boo...it didn't work.

I've had stains like that on my flat top stove before too...it really sucks but I found a tutorial on pinterest that has worked but you may have to do it a few times.

You take a rag and a bowl of warm soapy water and then just wet the rag then wipe down the stove. Then sprinkle some baking soda all over the stove. Place the damp rag over the baking soda so that it forms a paste. Let it sit for about 15 mins then wipe it clean. You may have to do it twice or leave it there for a little longer! Hope this helps.

I'm craving rice crispie treats now!!
