Pinned.Did.Done. and funny stuffs

I'm contradicting myself in a major way in this edition of Pinned.Did.Done.
I usually don't eat hamburger meat or sausage.  Nothing personal.  I just can't deal with the texture.  I've been this way my entire life.  It all looks good.  It all smells good.  I just can't eat it.
However, I'm a realist.  I realize most people eat ground meat, so I like having some reliable recipes on hand.
What I made here was eaten primarily by Scott (and the friend we had staying with us last week).  I did try a small bite of everything though (for Pinterest reviewing purposes, obviously) to make sure the flavor was right.

These meatballs looked amazing to me.  They didn't turn out quite like the picture, and were just okay.    Ricotta cheese makes everything better, though.

These meatballs sounded amazing by the way Kelly described them.  I browned them in a frying pan before adding them to the crockpot.  Scott loved them.  Italian sausage, I believe, made all the difference.  It's also worth noting that I subbed in spaghetti sauce I had made a few weeks ago and a lot of non-paleo ingredients (panko, regular milk, etc.), but I was more intrigued by the "method" not by the "ingredients".  I will always make meatballs in the crockpot from now on.

I used the leftover sausage in this stuffed spaghetti squash recipe.  The recipe didn't call for it.  But I think it made the squash so much more flavorful.

These were okay.  I like putting bananas and oats into cookies (like Gina's recipe here at  But bananas and oats by themselves were kinda bland.  Add some vanilla or peanut butter to jazz them up if you try them.  You may be adding more calories and defeating the purpose, but why would you eat food that doesn't taste good?  Exactly.

I loved this snack.  It was quite like a giant gooey popcorn ball.  I licked the pan.  Scott kept asking if I was "going to watch the movie" with him.  I was in the kitchen, busy digging marshmallow out from under my fingernails.

funny stuffs.

Speaking of Pinterest...this tumblr site of gross-looking Pinterest creations is pretty amusing.  Pleasepleaseplease don't ever let me end up on it though.  That'd be sad.

If you're not a Walking Dead fan, I apologize.  Only a one more week to the finale.

Do you know what I watch every Monday morning before school while I drink coffee?  That's right. The Talking Dead.  It's a nice little recap of the previous evening's events.

Then there's this:

And this is, honestly, what I want to do tomorrow.  It takes me 2 days to recover from a work week.  Why would I want to start all over again tomorrow??

Whatev.  4 more weeks.  Not that I'm counting or anything.

  1. HAHA those pics are awesome! And those paleo meatballs look good!

  2. I'm the same way about beef/sausage.
I just don't like the texture of it. And I always have a fear that I'll bite into a cartilage piece. Yuck.

  3. I could not agree more with that last funny! I am already sitting on the couch, in front of the tv, and I do not intend on moving. And I think I will try those crockpot meatballs. I love excuses to use my crockpot!

  4. I saw those cookies on pinterest but I really couldn't figure out how they would taste like cookies. Maybe if I called them breakfast bars I would like them. And added peanut butter. And chocolate chips.

  5. That spaghetti squash looks good. I've been looking for a new recipe!

  6. Okay, I'm scared to look at that site. Really.

And teachers deserve a 3 day weekend every week. So they can actually have a day to be productive after being exhausted on Sat/Sun!

  7. I love how we're all drawn to recipes because of what it looks like then in the end it doesn't turn out like the picture at all!

  8. Ok, the KStew/Jennifer Lawrence one is great. I don't think I have ever seen KStew smile!

  9. you made so many recipes!!! mine never turn out like the pictures. i want to eat that popcorn right now!

  10. omg. I want that popcorn. I'm trying to eat healthy too, though. Gah, it looks so great.

That last one is hilarious and oh so true. I really hate starting a new week of work and classes after a relaxing weekend.

  11. Oh that popcorn looks amazing!! YUM!

  12. I want to make that spaghetti squash recipe...but I don't think our store has spaghetti squash!! Boo hiss.
