High 5 for Friday

1.  I ended up with a LOT of candy after Valentine's Day at school.  Since I gave up candy for Lent, I brought it home, put the good stuff in a bag, and shoved it in the back of the pantry.  Well, Scott found it.
Saturday night culminated in me wrestling the bag away from him and throwing it into the giant garbage can in the garage.  Because throwing it into the kitchen garbage would just result in one of us digging it out again.

Proud moment.

2. Julian Fellowes is (perhaps, literally) trying to kill us all.  Or just give us a scare.  I had a feeling I knew what was coming at the end of Downton season 3.  He had plenty of evil to kill off:  Thomas, O'Brien, Mary, Edith...only the innocents die in this t.v. show, I suppose. Who's next? Poor baby Sybie??

3.  This may be the best pizza I've made yet. I could eat pizza twice a day, everyday.
Here's the dough recipe in case you missed it the other 18 times I've posted it.
4. It'd be totally awesome if I had a great good deed to link up with Amber.  I donated a bunch of K-Cups to the staff lounge at school (they charge for the silly things...I wrote "Free" on this box..let the confusion begin). That's all I've got today. Been a rough week.

5.  I survived Parent Conferences without feeling like this.

That's a win in my book.

Happy Friday!

  1. Thomas drives me crazy, I keep trying to find compassion for him to no avail. If baby Sybil dies, I'll be convinced Julian Fellowes is a sadist.

  2. Kudos on surviving parent conferences! Those can be awful.

  3. Ah Downton! Though I heard the two that were axed both wanted out of the show anyway... but they were my two fave characters! Now I'm left with mean Mary and sniveling Edith... at least the Dowager Countess will live forever and ever.

  4. Other than my normal, every day kindnesses (holding doors, smiling at strangers, saying hello, etc), I have sucked at an act of kindness a week.

  5. Hahaha, glad you survived parent conferences; I think that calls for some garbage candy ;)

  6. I'm so behind. I had no idea Maggie Smith was in Downton Abby until just recently and I freakign love her. So now I need to start watching. I looooove pizza. Way more than I should. It's just soo good! LMAO @ that clip! Where's it from??

  7. Thomas and O'Brien drive me batty. I accidentally saw a spoiler so I knew what was going to happen at the end but it was still so sad. And Baby Sybie? Could there be a cuter nickname or baby? I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to eat pizza this weekend. Yep, it needs to happen!

  12. You have some serious self control to throw out all that candy. Personally, I would have hidden it from myself, knowing I only had 40 days to wait before I could eat it.

Congrats on surviving parent-teacher conferences. I think if I were a teacher that would be what I would dread the most all year.

  13. OUr conferences are in about 3 weeks. Fortunately for me (knock on wood) not too many 8th grade parents come to the spring ones.

I wish someone would donate K-Cups in our staff room!

  14. Thomas and O'Brien are evil personified....just when I thought we were finally getting rid of him they manage to keep him around. I'm still devastated by Sybil and Matthew being gone. If either of those babies go, I don't know what I'll do!

Congratulations on surviving parent-teacher conferences. We don't do ones after the 2nd marking period anymore, which is stupid. It's hard to make time to talk to parents if you're not being forced into a set time. We do have them after the 3rd marking period, which is pretty much useless.

  16. Don't blame Downton, he wanted to leave so he could "focus on his broadway career" idiot lol

  17. Valentine's Day should NEVER come during Lent. That's just not ok. ;-) Also, I don't like people dying on TV shows. It's dumb. Downton's just not going to be the same without him.
