I might prefer Westeros to Alaska

Are you watching Game of Thrones?

If not, you should be.

It's an HBO show based off of George R.R. Martin's books Song of Fire and Ice.

I would love to read the books someday soon.  I just don't know how closely they follow the show, and don't want to spoil anything for myself.

There are 7 kingdoms in the land of Westeros.  That's 7 rulers vying for the Iron Throne.  The little prick that currently holds it is a teenage boy.  You will hate him.  Trust me.  There's some dragons involved, some zombies (now I have your attention), and lots of complicated relationships.

Oh, Lannisters, Lannisters...
You MUST pay attention to it.  Or you will end up like me.  Watching each episode 3 times.

I, like most of us, would love to smash in Joffrey's face with a rock, I think Sansa is probably wishing for a time machine right about now, and I think Tyrion is one of the greatest characters ever.

I'd talk more.  But I don't want to spoil it for you.

My advice would be to watch the first episode at least twice.  You might miss stuff the first time around.  (I watch every episode of every series I own at least 19 times.  That way I don't miss a thing.)

This show is brilliant.  However, with season 3 starting next March, it just means I have to keep HBO around for another year...and then True Blood will start again in June and...it's a vicious, vicious cycle.

Tyranny, royalty, incest, torture, back-stabbing.  It makes me thankful to live in Alaska.  Well.  Kind of.  Maybe.

I think that life would be a lot easier if it was as cut-and-dry as it was in Westeros.

They tend to have easy ways of getting rid of the stupid people.

 If only, Tyrion, if only.

  3. I've been intending to watch this for ages, but my husband and I are working our way through Skins (UK) right now and I've been watching Bones on my own time. It's got to be next on the list!
