Fortunately, I do not experience this with my sixth graders, but somehow, they do still forget to put their names on their papers even though they've been asked to do so since Kindergarten. Wouldn't you think that would be a habit by now?Becky Doughertyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11137408537369933534noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1457422002171939579.post-52270975604489822002015-11-25T11:24:43.560-06:002015-11-25T11:24:43.560-06:00i feel like if i was a teacher these things would ...i feel like if i was a teacher these things would annoy me too. i will keep it in mind for when i'm a parent though haha.Kristen @ See You In A Porridgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09592108031437491276noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1457422002171939579.post-77802606079219909722015-11-24T16:46:31.480-06:002015-11-24T16:46:31.480-06:00Thanks Jen! If they forget something when they have their own real job, no one will bail them out. My daughter does her's with me everyday. I normally have to remind her to put her name on it, but I never do it for her. I also don't dig through their backpacks. My son has things I'm supposed to initial daily. I've quit reminding him. It's his life that will suck if it's not initialed, not mine.Karahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08033554933698248094noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1457422002171939579.post-82518584448015946392015-11-23T19:40:43.794-06:002015-11-23T19:40:43.794-06:00I think these two points are spot on! So many parents I know carry all their kids stuff all the time, they come for lunch and recess, they bring forgotten HW. We are pretty firm on those things at the school I work at and luckily the parents are so supportive. We include all things like bringing their own lunch, appropriate clothing, papers...whatever it is they are responsible for making sure it gets from point a to b or getting it done. I also agree with you that teaching your children responsibility starts young, and bad habits can quickly occur. Bless your heart on the amount of stuff you have to do over "break". Hope you do get to enjoy some downtime!Cara (Kindly Unspoken)https://www.blogger.com/profile/05646839632185816703noreply@blogger.com
